Age range 6 to 9Snout is not your typical crocodile. When the skies of Africa turn dark with rain and Snouts river swells, this good-natured reptile lends his broad back to many stranded animal neighbours. Toads, hedgehogs, anteaters, and fireflies are thus carried safely over dangerous waters. Then, with a nod to Aesops classic fable, Snouts good deeds are repaid in full when a shift to hot, dry weather leaves him vulnerable instead.
