"The Faith in America" set narrates the story of faith and its history in America, focusing on how different faiths have impacted the nation and how, in turn, American culture has shaped each religion. The set explores topics such as the impact of Protestant churches and philosophy on early America; the influence of the Catholic Church on education; the continuing involvement of Jewish congregations in the arts and business; and, more recently, the lives of Muslim-Americans in the context of world events. From the first representatives who arrived as immigrants to the growth and development of each religious movement, each volume traces the history of a particular religion and explores its impact on American culture, society, and politics. The volumes also introduce historical and contemporary leaders of each faith.
