Designed to provide teachers with a variety of resources and teaching activities, this book includes photocopiable sheets, lesson plans and a poster which should stimulate discussion about grammar. The text provides activities that explore the types and functions of words that children will encounter such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs and prepositions. The poster demonstrates sentence construction as a "factory", defining and demonstrating the various parts of speech, both as a focus for whole class lessons and as an essential long-term reference for the children's writing. The lesson plans are structured to support direct teaching of the whole class followed by differentiated group/individual work.
