This simple book compares photographs of travel and transport in the early 20th century with similar scenes as typically seen today. Child readers are encouraged to look in detail at the photographs to learn about life in the past and how it is different today. JOURNEYS includes cars, cabs, trains, ships and aeroplanes. Differentiated text enables less able readers to access the information in the book as well as providing more detailed information for the more able. Detailed information on each of the historical photos is provided at the back of the book for teachers as well as a picture glossary, index and lists of further reading and places to visit. This new edition of one of a popular series has been updated with some new photos of life today.
