Meeting your new baby brother for the first time is never easy. In the case of the little girl in this story, it appears to lead to a nasty cough. The cough gets worse and worse, until it becomes desperate. Finally, people notice it and soothe, and love it, until it creeps away altogether, and suddenly the little girl finds that she can talk to her baby brother after all. This entertaining and witty book deals sensitively with emotions familiar to young children facing a new addition to the family.
