This series continues the photographic approach of the "Readabout"/"Thinkabout"/"Knowabout"/"Talkabout" range. The "Walkabout" series explores subjects concerning nature, science, geography and the environment through a simple text and colour photographs. The books aim to extend observation skills and stimulate discussion about the reader's surroundings. The books also aim to provide a valuable resource for special needs readers. This book looks at shells, seaweed, sea creatures and the tides that carry them, rockpools, sand dunes and different activities to do at the seashore, from holiday-making to fishing.
