Jasmine's dad is a farmer, and her mum is a large-animal vet, so Jasmine spends a lot of time caring for animals and keeping them out of trouble. Unfortunately, this often means she gets into hot water herself... A perfect animal story for younger readers by Waterstones Children's Book Prize-shortlisted author Helen Peters, with beautiful black-and-white illustrations by Ellie Snowdon. When Jasmine learns that Mr Hobson has grown too old to take care of his pet donkey, Mistletoe, she is determined that they won't be parted. Of course, this means Mistletoe will have to come and live with her. With Christmas coming, how can she convince her parents to give her this most unusual present? Brilliant storytelling that will make you laugh and cry, this is Dick King-Smith for a new generation. Look out for Jasmine's other adventures!A Piglet Called TruffleA Duckling Called ButtonA Sheepdog Called SkyA Kitten Called HollyA Lamb Called LuckyA Goat Called WillowAn Otter Called PebbleAn Owl Called StarA Deer Called Dotty

Helen Peters grew up on an old-fashioned farm in Sussex, surrounded by family, animals and mud. She spent most of her childhood reading stories and putting on plays in a tumbledown shed that she and her friends turned into a theatre. After university, she became an English and Drama teacher. Helen lives with her husband and children in London, and she can hardly believe that she now gets to call herself a writer. Ellie Snowdon is a fabulous new talent in picture books whose work has a timeless feel with a contemporary spirit. In 2015, she graduated from the Cambridge School of Art with an MA in Children's Book Illustration and was highly commended twice for the Macmillan Prize in the same year. After a few years in London, she has recently moved back to her hometown of Swansea, where she works from her studio with seaside views and her feline assistant, Baggy. When she's not working, you can find her enjoying an afternoon mystery drama while scoffing down some lemon cake.
