In A New Duck, Paul visits a city park through the seasons and observes Mallard ducks as they develop from egg to duckling to fledgling. Children will enjoy reading the cumulative, sing-song verse patterned after ?The House that Jack Built, ? and then peering under the flaps to learn interesting science facts. This book in the My First Look at series also contains a note to parents suggesting ways of exploring nature --- without disturbing it.
