"To Kill a Mockingbird," written by Harper Lee, is a poignant coming-of-age novel set in the racially charged atmosphere of 1930s Alabama. The story follows young Scout Finch, her brother Jem, and their father, Atticus Finch, a principled lawyer defending a Black man falsely accused of raping a white woman. Through Scout's innocent perspective, the narrative explores themes of racial injustice, moral growth, and empathy. As the children navigate complex social dynamics and confront prejudice in their town, they learn profound lessons about humanity, compassion, and the loss of innocence, making it a timeless reflection on morality and human rights.
