Jane is an ordinary dog in an extraordinary circus family. She isn't strong like her dad or graceful like her mum. She isn't brave like her sisters or daring like her brothers. When she tries to be those things, Jane just doesn't feel like herself. But she also doesn't feel special. Through the eyes of the ringmaster, readers and Jane learns that her ordinary qualities of friendship, kindness, and loyalty are extraordinary, and just being herself makes her special.
