"My Brilliant Body" by Paul Cemmick is a captivating exploration of the human experience through the lens of the body and identity. The story follows a young protagonist who embarks on a journey of self-discovery, grappling with body image, societal expectations, and the desire for acceptance. As they navigate the complexities of adolescence, relationships, and personal growth, the character learns to embrace their individuality and redefine what it means to have a "brilliant" body. Guy Macdonald was born in 1972. He grew up in a rambling old house surrounded by huge yew trees that he became very good at climbing. Across the fields was a river where he fished with string from a bamboo cane and made campfires. His greatest achievements of all time are: ripping a telephone directory in half, holding his breath for nearly two minutes underwater and whistling through a blade of grass. He has also co-written a series of children's fiction books called An Awfully Beastly Business about a werewolf boy who climbs trees, makes campfires and, given the chance, could almost certainly fold a single piece of paper at least seven times Lucy Marcovitch started her career as a primary teacher in Leeds before moving to London to write teaching materials and non-fiction books for schools. A Safe Place was her first picture book for young children. She loves running and walking in beautiful places, reading, theatre, music and watching her two young children grow up. Lucy lives in Warwickshire. Paul Cemmick's first love was cartoons. After studying graphic design at Maidstone College of Art, he got a job as an Art Editor on an industrial magazine. Since becoming a freelance cartoonist, Paul's work has appeared on book covers, album and CD covers, crisp packets and in numerous newspapers and magazines, including Punch and the Sunday Times. He has also produced caricatures for film and TV.
