Here is Jenny Koralek's third picture-book Bible story retold especially for very young readers. It tells of Queen Esther, a Jewish queen in the ancient Persian court, whose wisdom and great personal courage save the lives of her people living in the kingdom of Persia. Her bravery is still commemorated each year in the Jewish festival of Purim.

GRIZELDA HOLDERNESS was born in Zimbabwe, and has lived and worked in England for over twenty years. She studied at the Central School of Art and Design in London and has designed many book covers for Pan, Picador, Penguin, Everyman and Methuen, earning her the Pan Young Illustrator Award early on in her career. In addition, she has contributed illustrations for magazines such as The Sunday Times Magazine, Tatler, Cosmopolitan and New Scientist. Jenny Koralek was born in South Africa and educated in England and France. She is the author of a number of books for children, including The Boy and the Cloth of Dreams. She is married with three children and grandchildren. Mandy Sutcliffe took a degree in Illustration at Leeds Metropolitan University. It was during a three-month stay in Paris that she first started to paint pictures of children. Night Ride to Nanna's is her first book.
