Liz Pichon studied graphic design at Middlesex Polytechnic and Camberwell School of Art in London. She won the Smarties Book Prize Silver Award. Gillian Shields was born and brought up in Yorkshire. She read english and Cambridge and then trained as an actress before teaching acting and becoming director of a London drama school. She now lives in the country, and teaches drama and English, part-time, in a local school
