Greg Byrd has been a Maths and Statistics teacher (GCSE and 'A' level) in Pembroke School for 18 years. During this time he has been involved in several innovative schemes that have helped his department triple its A* to C pass rate at GCSE. He is currently Assistant Head of Maths and Assistant Head of Year. He has previously written an Application of Number for Health and Social Care book, as well as writing maths questions for TV programmes. Gill Read has worked in several schools teaching and managing maths and until three years ago had held the position of Curriculum Team Leader for Maths for 7 years at her present school, Aldersley High School, Wolverhampton. For the last three years I have been leading and managing a project whereby the brightest pupils in each year take one or more of their SAT's in year 8.
