This teaching kit provides a wide range of resources for teaching Tudor history, as outlined in CSU2 of the Key Stage 2 element of the National Curriculum. The pack comprises: A 32-page children's storybook which is the story of the Spanish Armada as witnessed by a cabin boy aboard one of the English fleet, as well as photographs of relevant artefacts, background information for children on events leading up to the battle, a time-line and a detailed glossary of words and terms. A 192-page structured teaching programme of historical background information step-by-step lesson plans, photocopiable activities, homework and assessment sheets plus valuable record, pupil and curriculum development sheets. The pack will be divided in specific lesson plan sections, including: the monarchy, court life, rural and urban life, explorers and the empire, politics and war, religion, transport and communication, science and technology, children of the time and the Spanish Armada. A collection of posters features artefacts and artists' impressions of life during this period.

Gillian Goddard is a primary education lecturer at Liverpool Hope University College. She runs a specialist module for B. Ed students on PSHE as well as delivering inset courses on PSHE. She also acts as a consultant to schools in the formation and delivery of PSHE. Jacqueline Barbera was a primary teacher for ten years befor becoming a senior lecturer at Liverpool Hope University College. Whilst a teacher she had special responsibility for English and PSHEand as a lecturer has specific responsibility for Primary English. She provides inset training in Literacy and PSHE. Kath Cox and Pat Hughes are senior lecturers in Education at Liverpool Hope University and are former primary school teachers.
