The That's Incredible! collection of texts provides children with the perfect foundation for practising the 10 comprehension strategies in Project X Comprehension Express. Each text is carefully levelled to be accessible to every child - including those just behind age-related expectations. This collection of texts is part of Project X Comprehension Express. It is a whole-class teaching programme specially built to help children in Years 4-6 (P5-P7) master comprehension and excel in the new National Reading Test. Joe Lillington was born in London and studied illustration at Falmouth University. He was recently commissioned to illustrate the cover of Stew Magazine, illustrated a short story in AMBIT magazine, and has exhibited at Light Grey Art Lab shows and the Just Us collective show. Tony Bradman was born in London in 1954. He has written poetry, picture Di Hatchett is an expert in early intervention in literacy and mathematics and in the leadership of inclusion. Di's extensive career in primary education has included 12 years as a head teacher, a long spell as a Senior Director with the Primary National Strategy and, more recently, as Director of The Every Child a Chance Trust, developing the Every Child a Reader and Every Child Counts programmes. Di's field of expertise is the development of high quality approaches to intervention for children who struggle with the development of core skills in literacy and/or mathematics. Marilyn Joyce is an expert in systematic synthetic phonics and early literacy development. Marilyn has spent many years teaching in London schools and advising on literacy in local authorities. Marilyn was also part of the team that wrote the 'Letters and Sounds' phonics programme under the leadership of Sir Jim Rose, and was Senior Director of the Communication, Language and Literacy Development team in the National Strategies. Andy Elkerton is a highly talented illustrator who has now turned his hand to writing. He has illustrated many fabulous readers on the Franklin Watts list. One of his recent titles, I Love this Tree, was shortlisted for the SLA awards. Richard Joyce has written two adult non-fiction books, the first about cricket - a sport he has an unhealthy obsession with - was nominated for the MCC and Cricket Society Book of the Year. His first book for children is the product of an alphabetical negotiation: his family lobbied him for a pet, he offered them an ant, they badgered him for a badger, he countered with offers of a centipede, dust mite, earwig and flea; in the end they settled on a story about a goat. He lives in Hertfordshire with his wife and three children. Freya Hartas is a UK based illustrator. She specializes in conjuring up strange characters, animals and monsters- creating fantastical worlds for them to inhabit and get lost in. Her first picture book Little Kong will publish with Lemniscaat in October 2015. She has also illustrated teen series The Dark Lord published by Orchard Books. Narinder Dhami lives in Cambridge with her husband, Robert, and their four cats.
