Penpals for Handwriting provides five unique developmental phases to provide clear progression for children aged 3-11. The CD-ROMs support interactive, direct teaching to the whole class using an interactive whiteboard. Big Books also provide consolidation and extra practice for small groups working with a Teaching Assistant and are ideal for use with small groups. Essential learning is reinforced through links to phonics and spelling, and sky-writing and lesson warm ups develop the fine and gross motor skills. Penpals makes frequent links to other literacy objectives so handwriting lessons also become an opportunity to revise other aspects of writing. Letter-formation practice is linked with spelling patterns, resulting in efficient handwriting and higher quality writing.
