Samurai is a beautiful, original script written specifically for Years 7 and 8. The play is accompanied by teaching materials containing fantastic ideas for drama work, as well as other activities designed to answer English Framework and NC objectives. Samurai is a story set in the ancient city of Utagowa, Japan. Utagowa no longer exists, but when it did it was famous for two things: four years of famine, and one year of unbelievable wealth. The famine ended when a golden samurai sword was brought to the city by a boy named Yuki. But the good times didn't last. After a year, Yuki returned to the city to remind the citizens of their promise, made when they were starving, to return the sword so that others, less fortunate than them, could search for and benefit from the magic of the sword. Join Yuki in his fight against insuperable odds to return the Sword.
