Aimed at high ability/able students at Key Stage 3 (11-14), this students' book contains stimulating English activities which deliver pace, breadth, depth and challenge. Units will focus of themes and topics which cover a variety of text types. They each contain several stimulus texts, from full-page articles to shorter extracts to prompt discussions enabling the development of skills in comparison, evaluation and synthesis. "English Challenge" aims to move students coming into KS3 at Level 5 or above to Level 7 by the end of the Key Stage. The students' book is supported by a teacher's book and accompanying CD-ROM containing resource sheets.

 

This book is suitable for Key Stage 3. KS3 covers school years 7, 8 and 9, and ages 12-14 years. A key stage is any of the fixed stages into which the national curriculum is divided, each having its own prescribed course of study. At the end of each stage, pupils are required to complete standard assessment tasks.
