This book coincides with the 70th anniversary of the start of World War II and is the perfect companion to Key Stage 2 National Curriculum learning. "World War II" provides detailed accounts of how the war affected the lives of children across Europe and explains how the legacy of the war continues to be felt today.

 

This book is suitable for Key Stage 2. KS2 covers school years 4, 5 and 6, and ages 8-11 years. A key stage is any of the fixed stages into which the national curriculum is divided, each having its own prescribed course of study. At the end of each stage, pupils are required to complete standard assessment tasks.

Gavin Mortimer was born in London 35 years ago. As a freelance journalist he has contributed articles to a diverse range of magazines and newspapers, including the Observer, the Guardian, History Monthly and Esquire. He has written many adult books on a variety of themes, and writes monthly for Rugby World and Observer Sports Magazine. He is a member of the MCC and has played cricket since he was a small boy and comes from a family of cricket fanatics. This is his first book for Puffin.
