Gavin Mortimer was born in London 35 years ago. As a freelance journalist he has contributed articles to a diverse range of magazines and newspapers, including the Observer, the Guardian, History Monthly and Esquire. He has written many adult books on a variety of themes, and writes monthly for Rugby World and Observer Sports Magazine. He is a member of the MCC and has played cricket since he was a small boy and comes from a family of cricket fanatics. This is his first book for Puffin. Tony Morris illustrated Lion Children's Books' successful Lion Story Bible series.
