JOEL HARPER (Claremont, CA) growing up in an artistic household, Joel Harper was encouraged by his family to express himself through music and writing. Joel s first book, All the Way to the Ocean (2006) is in its 4th edition and has been adapted into an animated movie. His second book, Sea Change, debuted in 2015. He supports his love of self-expression and discovery by managing his publishing house, Freedom Three Publishing, and working with various local, national, and international environmental organizations and initiatives advocating for marine conservation. When he is not writing and publishing books, he plays and teaches lap slide guitar and Native American Flute. GARY KELLEY was raised in a musical family and exposed to drawing, painting, and art history at an early age by his artist uncle. This stoked a lifelong passion for art and music with a restless eye and an eclectic ear. Over his extensive career as a professional artist, he has illustrated some 30 picture books on subjects from the Blues to Paganini to classic literature. He has also created murals for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Google, and Barnes and Noble. In addition, he has designed dozens of CD covers and portraits for Rolling Stone magazine. Ruth Vander Zee (Author) Ruth was brought up in Chicago. At the age of forty, she decided to get her college degree in education and later began writing stories for children. Ruth and her husband Vern live in Miami, Florida. Roberto Innocenti (Illustrator) Roberto Innocenti was born in 1940 in Bagno a Ripoli, a small town near Florence. Never having attended art school, he went to Rome to work in an animation studio. Returning to Florence, he began designing books and illustrating film and theatre posters. He has illustrated Pinocchio, A Christmas Carol, J. Patrick Lewis's The Last Resort and Ruth Vander Zee's Erika's Story. He lives in Florence with his wife.
