"Sea Stars" by Gail Saunders Smith tells the story of a young girl named Fiona who embarks on a journey of self-discovery during her summer on the coast. As she explores the beach's hidden treasures and learns about marine life, Fiona forms deep connections with her family, newfound friends, and the environment. The narrative intertwines themes of friendship, resilience, and the importance of protecting nature. With each sea star Fiona finds, she uncovers more about herself and her place in the world, ultimately realizing that the ocean holds the key to her dreams and aspirations.
