Spike is so shy he finds it hard to raise his voice above a whisper. Worst of all, he is still afraid of the dark! At school Mrs Pugh brings in shadow puppets of the Hindu Gods, Rama and Sita, and the monster Ravana. Spike is scared out of his wits! But when Mrs Pugh describes the brave hero Rama, and explains how shadows are made, Spike begins to feel stronger. By the time the class act out the Hindu legend with shadow puppets, Spike finds that his voice has grown bigger than his fears!
