This book, which stems from a collaboration with Timbuktu Labs the first and multi-award winning digital magazine dedicated entirely to children provides an innovative interpretation of the famous and romantic story describing the adventures of young Clara in the Kingdom of Toys. The creation of a paper version of the Timbuktu app by the same name enables the reader to move between the book and the infinite possibilities offered by its digital counterpart. Philip Giordano's elegant illustrations underscore the magical atmosphere of this timeless story. AUTHOR: Francesca Cavallo is an award-winning theater director and playwright. Her plays have been staged in Italy, Switzerland and Germany for the past 5 years. In 2012, she moved to the U.S. to co-found Timbuktu Labs with Elena Favilli. At Timbuktu, she serves as Chief Creative Officer. Philip Giordano is an Italian illustrator born in a small coastal town in Liguria. He attended the Brera Fine Arts Academy in Milan, studied illustration at the IED and subsequently gained a Master in Animation Techniques in Turin. In 2009, he won the "International Award for Illustration" at the Bologna Children's Book Fair. Colour illustrations

The Nutcracker
It is Christmas Eve and the mysterious Dr. Drosselmeyer has arrived at Clara and Fritz's house with a special gift for Clara - a wooden nutcracker doll. The doll brings magic for when the clock strikes midnight Clara awakes to see a battle between giant mice and life-size toy soldiers, led by her valiant Nutcracker. After winning the battle, the Nutcracker is transformed into a handsome prince who takes Clara on a journey to the Land of Snow and then to the Kingdom of Sweets.
