What are rainforests and why are they important? This book looks at the fragile ecosystem and its destruction over the last fifty years. It looks at whether there can be a balance between people's needs and the well-being of the forests themselves. This book talks about the causes of the destruction of rainforest and also at the positive projects that are already happening to conserve the rainforest. It also looks at the future of the forests. Opposing viewpoints are given throughout to provide opportunities for discussion and debate.
