Michaela Morgan is a well-regarded author whose recent Walter Tull's Scrapbook earned her glowing reviews and a boost in profile, as well as a shortlisting for the Blue Peter Book Award for Best Book with Facts. ERIKA PAL was born in Budapest. She worked in an animation film studio, before relocating to the UK with a dream of becoming a freelance illustrator. During her Animation and Illustration degree at London's Kingston University, she was twice highly commended for the Macmillan Prize, and won the national competition for Booktrust's Big Picture logo. After graduation, her first picture book, Azad's Camel was published by Frances Lincoln, followed by I See the Moon and Little Lion. Erika currently lives in London and her other interests are printmaking and experimental animation.
This sensitively-written, poignant story rounds off with an unsentimental, realistically satisfying conclusion. Irish Examiner Sensitive and robust, finely written and illustrated, this is an engaging tale about transcending life's grottiness. Carousel Night Flight offers a touching and well-written insight into the life of a young boy adrift in a strange and often threatening world. Introducing the book to children in schools and libraries would be a good way of providing empathy with the predicament of those who arrive on our shores with little or no preparation and often deeply traumatised. Books for Keeps An important and life-affirming message for anyone who has ever suffered and been mentally scarred by their experiences. Ibby Link
