Dog's beautiful white coat acts rather like a magnet for spills of all sorts in this story that is full of colour and counting. Soon Dog is covered in spots made by a dollop of red jam, a drip of blue paint and so on as the day progresses. Soon he is a technicolour canine with ten spots to count and ten colours to name. Colour recognition is re-inforced just before Dog has his bath.
