Two imaginative cows, Joanna and Susanna, dream of roaming the range as cowgirls. They ride horses, camp out, rope steers, and sing of dancing "by the light of the moooooon." With a simple, rhyming text and active illustrations, this book is sure to appeal to children's sense of adventure. Who wouldn't want to see the world instead of sitting around chewing cud? In their daydream, Joanna and Susanna face dangers and new experiences, but the real fun comes from escaping the pasture together - as a team. A pair of western talents created this delightful book, Californian Ellen A. Kelley and Texan Tom Curry. Tom's picture book "The Bootmaker and the Elves" is a backlist favouite praised for its "exceptional artwork." (Children's Literature) And Ellen's chapter book debut "The Lucky Lizard" was called "hilarious" (SLJ) and "delightful" (Children's Literature).
