From the Gateway Books series - a series of interesting stories for the slightly older child, with some adventure and each with a Christian theme. Pauline lived in Jamaica, an island of flowers and sunshine and gaiety: but she couldn't help seeing that there was unhappiness and trouble as well as warmth and beauty, and she wanted to help, for she thought of herself as a Christian. Yet she had no sympathy with one of the other girls at school. She thought Jennifer was a liar and a thief, and she was determined to teach her a lesson - but in the end she learned one herself.
