Edward Lear (12 May 1812 - 29 January 1888) was an artist, illustrator and writer known for his nonsensical poetry and his limericks, a form which he popularized. Paul Galdone was born in Budapest in 1907. He was the winner of a Caldecott Honor and illustrated more than three hundred books in his lifetime, many of which are classic retellings.
