Edward Mendelson is the Lionel Trilling Professor in the Humanities at Columbia University, and has taught at both Harvard and Yale. She lives with her husband and three dogs in Kansas City, MO. Edward Lear (12 May 1812 - 29 January 1888) was an artist, illustrator and writer known for his nonsensical poetry and his limericks, a form which he popularized.
