Johnny loves making things and whenever he has spare time he can be found hammering and banging and sawing up pieces of wood. But his parents don't think much of his hobby. 'Oh dear!' they cry whenever he begins, 'JOHNNY IS UP TO HIS NONSENSE AGAIN.' So it comes as no surprise that when he decides to make a grandfather clock they call him silly and tell him to do something 'useful' instead. In fact, the only person who believes Johnny can do it is Susannah. Will Johnny be able to build his very own grandfather clock, with only the help of Susannah and Joe the Blacksmith?
