Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875) was a Danish author and poet, most famous for his writing down of many timeless, classic fairy tales. He is Denmark's most famous author and his birthday is celebrated every year with a part called "Odin Story Day". Christian Birmingham graduated in illustration from Exeter College of Art and Design in 1991, and is one of the most talented artists of his generation. Edith Nesbit was an English author and poet who published over 60 books of fiction for children under her pen name E. Nesbit.

One wintery evening, he is kidnapped by the wicked Snow Queen and swept away to live for ever in her kingdom of ice. Gerda must travel through inhospitable and frozen lands, sustained only by the kindness of strangers, in order to find her beloved friend. And when she gets there, she must melt the ice in his heart before she can take him back home.
