This book includes stunning colour photographs, clear concise text, a key facts page, and an index. It is winter in the Arctic and a mother polar bear gives birth to two cubs in her snowy den. The young bears spend their first few months near the safety of the den. Eventually they must follow their mother on a long journey to the sea ice, where the mother will hunt whilst still keeping a watch for danger. The young cubs have much to learn and it will be a further two years before they are skilled enough hunters to live on their own.
