Galia Bernstein was born and raised in Israel until she moved to New York to study design. She worked as a textile print artist and later as a senior designer and then art director. Based in Brooklyn, she is now a freelance illustrator. Mark Ruffle studied graphic design and then worked as an art editor for Oxford University Press, before becoming a freelance illustrator and designer. When he's not drawing animals or spaceships, among other things, he enjoys walking his dogs and cycling in the Cotswolds, where he lives with his wife and two daughters. Dr. Douglas Palmer is a science writer and academic currently teaching at Cambridge University. He is the author of several books on science, geology and prehistory.
