Douglas Evans has taught in international schools in London, Helsinki and in Oregon. John Evans was born in Birmingham, England and has illustrated a number of both British and Japanese titles. Hiawyn Oram was brought up in South Africa. She was a professional actor before coming to England, where she has worked as an advertising copywriter and has had numerous books published. John Shelley grew up in Sutton Coldfield and studied painting at Bournville School of Art. He founded an indie music magazine The Blue Blanket, before moving into illustration in 1983. His interest in Japanese illustrative style took him there in 1987, and he has been in the Far East ever since.
