In "I'd Really Like to Eat a Child" by Sylviane Donnio, a small, hungry crocodile is on the lookout for something to eat. When he catches sight of a playful little boy, he thinks he’s found the perfect snack. However, the clever child tricks the crocodile, turning the tables on him. Through whimsical illustrations and a humorous storyline, the book explores themes of friendship, cleverness, and the importance of thinking outside the box. The delightful interaction between the characters makes this story both entertaining and enchanting for young readers, teaching them that not everything is as it seems. Dorothee de Monfreid began to write stories and illustrate them with coloured pencils when she was at school. Now that she is bigger, she is a full-time author-illustrator, writing stories for French children about cats, bunnies, elephants, stinky monsters and even cake! Sylviane Donnio began writing her first children's book at age eight, but stopped after about a dozen lines, promising herself she'd try again when she was bigger. After studying law and becoming a mother of three children, she kept her promise. She lives in France with her family and has written many books for children.
