All Doreen Mulryan Marts ever wanted to do was draw and ice skate. She attended Carnegie Mellon University as a fine arts major, then moved on to New York's School of Visual Arts, where she received her degree in illustration and cartooning. In between, she sold ice cream at Disney World and ran errands for MTV. After graduation, she worked at Marvel Comics as a production assistant in the Mighty Marvel Bullpen. After a few years working alongside super heroes, she took a job designing products and toys at Russ Berrie. Now, when she is not in search of NYC's best cheeseburgers and cupcakes, she is working as a freelance children's book illustrator and author from the comfort of her home (in fuzzy slippers) with her daughter (P-Nut) and puppy (Baxter Blue Cheese) by her side.
