Everyone in the village of Blackberry Bottom thinks that Miss Slade is a witch. She wears a patch over one eye, she lives in a dirty old caravan with a host of animals, and to tell the truth, she's a bit smelly. Patsy and Jim Reader are new to Blackberry Bottom. Although Miss Slade seems rather unusual, she doesn't appear to them to be a witch. Patsy and Jim's parents aren't so sure and forbid them from visiting her. Luckily the resourceful Miss Slade has some ideas of her own...
