Tilly Trumble spends her days searching for chairs of all shapes and sizes. Some are wiggly and wobbly, some are plump and saggy, and some are groaning and moaning. But even with a house filled with unusual chairs, whose arms always welcome her, something isn't right! Tilly needs a special four-legged, scruffy old chair for the spot next to the fireplace, the only empty place in the whole house. One day, after chair shopping in flea markets and yard sales, Tilly comes home to find a scruffy old dog plopped in one of her chairs. Though Tilly yells scoot the dog does not leave. Soon Tilly and the scruffy dog are spending happy days together, until one day he goes missing! Tilly searches high and low, passing by some perfect chairs as she looks for her four-legged, scruffy old pal who might be just right for that spot by the fireplace.
