Mary Auld is an editor and writer of chidren's non-fiction. Her work for Franklin Watts includes Meet the Family. She lives and works in London. Mary Auld studied English at London University, before becoming an editor of children's books, editing and writing both fiction and non-fiction. This is her first series for Franklin Watts. Diana Mayo is a young illustrator with a rising reputation. She studied illustration at Kingston University. Diana has produced illustrations for books of Myths and Legends for Franklin Watts and Barefoot Books.

This book contains the following story:

Daniel in the Lion's Den
Darius the Mede gives Daniel high office, but is then tricked into issuing a decree that condemns Daniel to death. Daniel is cast into a den of lions, but cheats death, for God sent an angel to close the jaws of the lions. The King throws those who conspired against Daniel to the lions, commanding his people to "tremble and fear before the God who closed the jaws of the lions".
