"My Oxford Word Board Book" is a charming first board book for toddlers and pre-school children. First words are accompanied by charming pictures and arranged in themes ranging from parts of the body, clothes, food to toys, bathroom and bedroom. There is also a special section on numbers, colours, shapes and days of the week and months of the year. Illustrated by top children's artist David Melling, this is a superb introduction to the world of first words and concepts.

David Melling was born in Oxford where his father was a sculptor. He lived in Italy for some time and is now married with a baby daughter. He is the author of many early learning concept books and for OUP has 'Starting Off With Maths' and 'At Home With Maths' to his credit. He is also the author of the 'Oxford Primary Maths Dictionary'.

First Words Non-fiction is a collection of engaging books for very new readers. These books contain carefully controlled vocabulary and focus on familiar experiences. At Stage 1 each book consists of simple sentence constructions and one line of text per page.
