There is also a special section on numbers, colours, shapes and days of the week and months of the year. Illustrated by top children's artist David Melling, this is a superb introduction to the world of first words and concepts.

David Melling was born in Oxford where his father was a sculptor. He lived in Italy for some time and is now married with a baby daughter.
