David Melling was born in Oxford where his father was a sculptor. He lived in Italy for some time and is now married with a baby daughter. Peter Patilla is a key infant maths specialist who not only writes but advises and consults with publishers INSET. He is the author of many early learning concept books and for OUP has 'Starting Off With Maths' and 'At Home With Maths' to his credit. He is also the author of the 'Oxford Primary Maths Dictionary'.
