David Elliot was born in Ashburton, in the South Island of New Zealand. He is an award-winning illustrator and author who has achieved international success. He is the creator of Henry's Map, and his artwork has also appeared in the Redwall epic by Brian Jacques. Paul Meisel has illustrated many books for children, including Why Are the Ice Caps Melting?, Energy Makes Things Happen, and What Happens to Our Trash? in the Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science series. He lives in Newtown, Connecticut.
