Hound Dog moves to the country, and promises his best friend Jojo that he'll write. But from Hound Dog's first letter, we realise that he has fallen in with bad company. Will Hound Dog stand up to his new friends? Or will he be swayed into behaving badly? Told through a combination of letters between Hound Dog and Zoot, and straight narration, this is a really appealing and endearing story. Jaunty and readable, it's terrific fun to read aloud and in places is laugh out loud funny. Hound Dog is an adorably hapless hero, who comes good in the end.
