Bass thought going camping on Bird Island was a good idea at the time. After all, Natasha was going too. But when her friends, Jarrod, Lee and Frenchie join the group, a summer camping trip becomes something more sinister. Her friends aren't interested in watching birds, just in killing them. And the violent rampage that ensues forces Bass to make some tough decisions. Justin D'Ath says: "I don't plan. My writing formula goes something like this: 1) think up an unusual situation or problem (the weirder the better!) 2) put a character into that situation 3) see what happens So writing for me is never dull, it's full of surprises and unexpected outcomes.
