Danny Parker was born in the UK. He has been a nurse, an undertaker and an actor. He is now a teacher in Perth, Western Australia, and is married with two children, for whom he sometimes plays the part of a parachute. Meg McKinlay is the award-winning author of many children's books and novels, including the picture books Duck for a Day, Once Upon a Small Rhinoceros and No Bears, all illustrated by Leila Rudge. She is also an Honorary Research Associate at the University of Western Australia.
