She has taught literature, writing, history, and visual arts to students ranging from elementary school to college. Danielle studied English and Visual Arts at Harvard University and exhibits her artwork internationally. As the spouse of a diplomat, she and her family have lived in Washington D. C. , New Delhi, India and Kingston, Jamaica. Lisa M. Bolt Simons, a teacher by day, has published several nonfiction children's books, as well as articles in various publications. She's been awarded a Minnesota State Arts Board grant, a McKnight Artist Fellowship for Writers/Loft Award in Children's Literature Honorable Mention, and a Shabo Award from The Loft Literary Center. She lives in Minnesota with her husband and teen twins.
