Now, you might think the King of Wisdom was the wisest man in the world, but things are not always as they seem! Desperate to be wise, he hopes to get his hands on the BOOK OF RIDDLES.

But there's one little problem. The Book is in the grimy hands of Prince Pugnax of Porzana.

Enter Ricolana, the daughter of the King of Wisdom. The king arranges to marry her to the dreadful prince. She is heartbroken - but what can she do?

Along comes Agamemnon. With a little help from a strange wizard he sets out to rescue - and maybe win - the princess. But Pugnax is not a man to take this kind of challenge lying down...

Dan Kissane lives on a farm in Kerry where he keeps sheep and bees. His book Pugnax and the Princess was published in October 2001. This was originally published in 1995 as The King of Wisdom's Daughter, followed by a sequel, The Eagle Tree (1996) which was shortlisted for the BISTO Book of the Year Award 1997. Jimmy's Leprechaun Trap (1997) was also shortlisted for the BISTO Book of the Year Award 1998.
